National resource positioning statement

To all ANZLAA members, colleagues and friends,

I am pleased to advise the release of a new Position Statement – Importance of a National Animal Resource Model. This Position Statement is a direct response to the recent proposed closure of the Animal Resource Centre in Western Australia and we trust that you find this resource valuable as we negotiate this challenge as a community and more broadly across the medical research sector in Australia and New Zealand.

Your action is now of critical importance, and it is imperative that the WA Government understands and recognises the role the Animal Resource Centre plays in Research in WA and across Australia. As a matter of urgency, they need to hear from you as individuals across a broad range of disciplines and organisations to understand the impact of this closure in your own words. To assist with this action ANZLAA have provided a sample letter template for you to edit and reflect the impact as you understand it.
