Hosted at the Hotel Grand Chancellor, Hobart, ANZLAA 2025 will showcase the unparalleled ingenuity of the Australian & New Zealand laboratory animal scientific community. This year, our focus is to showcase diversity in our industry, the importance of animal welfare and how this can influence reliable science. Our attendees consist of Animal Technicians, Facility Managers, Veterinarians, Compliance and Safety teams, Architects and many more fields. Together we come together as a community to share, challenge and learn for a small window of in person talks, discussions and workshops.
ANZLAA 2025 aims to shine a bright spotlight on local expertise and achievements. Whether it's small, medium, or large enterprises, whether they're land-based or water-based, our goal is to comprehensively showcase the breadth and depth of success in our community this year!
The program will cover but not limited to:
Research diversity
Working with a diversity of species, people and knowledge to shape practices and encourage fresh ideas.
Welfare and Wellbeing
Improving animal welfare; developing 3Rs initiatives, including those with a replacement and reduction focus; caring for those working with animals.
Scientific Integrity
The importance of honesty, objectivity, transparency and accountability in research.
Ethics and social responsibility
Ensuring and improving ethical review practices. Upholding our responsibility to animals, science and society.
Safety and compliance From workplace health and safety to the Australian code for the care and use of animals for scientific purposes, and training that supports good practice – compliance benefits people, animals and research.
